50Cent sends abusive text messages to his 15 year-old son (read texts)

Radar Online today published a series of text message which they claim is a text exchange between rapper 50cent and his 15 year old son, Marquise Jackson. This heated exchange between father and son apparently happened before 50cent was arrested last week for allegedly attacking his baby mama.

The abusive exchange, which began at 10.59 p.m and lasted for more than an hour according to RO, started after Marquis failed to open the door when 50cent came to see him. The rapper called his son 'f*cking stupid', a 'sh*t head' a 'motherf*cker.' and said said he no longer had a son. Radar claim they verified the texts originated from a cell phone registered to G Unit Touring, the record label created and owned by 50 Cent. Read the transcript of the unfiltered and raw exchange after the cut...

Photos: See how Nigeria set a world record for tooth-brushing!!!!

Over 300,000 young Nigerians gathered at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos, as well as other locations around the state, to participate in the World Record breaking Teeth brushing challenge. The challenge sponsored by leading oral care brand, Close Up toothpaste, in partnership with Lagos State government, Nigerian Dental Association (NDA), HEIT Solutions, Vas2Net & Core Media, saw various school students take part in brushing their teeth at the same time at different locations. Continue

A cross section of sponsors and participants at the closeup World Record with Teeth brushing challenge at Teslem Balogun Stadium
Speaking before the kick-off, Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, said that the challenge was a representation of how people ought to take care of their bodies, with oral care being a priority.
“The Lagos State government supports a comprehensive healthcare system. A simple oral hygiene routine, such as brushing twice daily, restricts the number of visits to the dentist. Unfortunately, many people do not take care of their teeth and mouth because they consider them small among the body parts that should be taken care of. There is little consideration that this part of the body is where all the food that we eat in order to nourish the rest of our body passes through,” Fashola said.
Mr. Mabo Thabe, Managing Director, Unilever Nigeria, makers of Close Up toothpaste and other household brands, who spoke at the event, said that Close Up was supporting the challenge as part of itscommitment to promoting and reiterating a healthy oral care culture for Nigerians.
According to him, “At Unilever, our mission is to meet the everyday needs of our consumers through great brands that help people feel good, look good and get more out of life. We have constantly provided quality goods for 90 years in Nigeria, and we are poised to create even more value for our consumers by stayingclose to them, understanding their needs and meeting those needs through consistent innovation. A healthy and good looking Nigeria is a great Nigeria.”
Vice President, Association of Private Dental Practitioners of Nigeria, Azuara Ifeanyi David; President, Nigeria Dental Association, Olojede Olurotimi; Brand Building Director, Unilever Nigeria Plc, David Arome Okeme, and Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Public Health, Dr Yewande Adeshina, during the Closeup World Record Teeth Brushing Challenge
Project Lead, World breaking Teeth brushing challenge, and Founder, HEIT Solutions, Dr. Lawal Bakare, who also spoke at the event said that the Teeth brushing challenge was spread across communities in Lagos which include Epe, Ikorodu, Agbara, Ikeja and Surulere, with hundreds of volunteers from the Nigerian Dental Association (NDA), Schools, and other agencies, who were present at the different locations across the state to ensure that the counting was properly monitored.
In preparation for the Challenge, over 300 secondary school teachers went through a special Teacher’s Alignment Training Session. The teachers were informed of the World Record standards for counting the number of students brushing in each school, the designed model for the tooth brushing as well as the waste recycling element to the attempt.
Close Up Brand Manager, Mr. Dexter Adeola, thanked Nigerians for their unflinching support towards making the event a huge success. “At the beginning, we urged Nigerians to show their support for this challenge by brushing twice. I have been overwhelmed by the turn out and the number of people who told me that they brushed twice today already and will still do so later. This is one of the reasons Close Uploves Naija. The warmth and love of the people cannot be quantified. Thank you Nigeria! Today, together we have made history!” he concluded.
The Close Up Teeth brushing challenge would be the latest World Record on Teeth brushing, putting Nigeria in the Guinness Book of World Records. India previously held the title where an event brought together 177,003 people to brush their teeth at the same time.

Check On It: 2face speaks to American urban magazine, Rolling Out!!!

Nigerian superstar singer, Innocent Ujah “2Face” who was nominated for a second BET Award this year after jointing winning the Best African Act gong with D’banj in 2011 recently spoke to Yvette Caslin of Rolling Out magazine while in the US. Check out highlights from the interview below:
He’s no stranger to mulitplatinum artists in the U.S. or abroad. He’s collaborated with Wyclef Jean, Mary J. Blige, R. Kelly, Kelly Rowland and T-Pain. His single, “African Queen” was the first single ever aired on MTV Base, he’s received numerous awards from Afro Nollywood and MTV, and his first BET for “International Artist” in 2011.
Read what 2Face has to say.
Where do you find inspiration?
Sometimes the music just comes … it is based on reality.
Did you expect for your single “African Queen” to be such a big hit, a global anthem?
You know when you record a song in the studio, you have this expectation or anticipation that your song will grow, but I didn’t expect it to [blow up] so fast.
How do you feel being a solo artist?
Decision-making is easier now. When I was in a group, we had to agree do disagree. Apart from that everything is the same; the hard work is the same.
How do you balance music and business?
The music is the business. I have a manager and a couple of people who help me. Anything you want to do, if you dedicate your time to it, you can do it. Music is my fulltime business.
How is the musical landscape in Nigeria and Liberia different than the U.S.?
It’s definitely different. It’s not easy doing music where I am from. The structure is not proper yet. It’s coming up really strong from where I started. There was piracy and payment of royalties was a war. People are now studying entertainment law and managing artists.

Tell us about your fashion sense.
I like to be plain and simple. Anything I think fits me; I wear. I try to look sharp. What makes me ‘me’ is being me.
How did you come up with the name 2Face?
There are two sides of me. I might be a gangster in a video or a churchgoer. I wanted to have a name that differentiates me from my art. For people to really know me, they will have to get to know me.
Who are your musical inspirations?
Bob Marley, Féla Anikulapo Kuti and Michael Jackson
How did you get your start as an artist and become recognized internationally? Was it via social media and the web?
No. There were one or two people who saw my work. A friend played it for a friend. The Internet wasn’t as crazy as it is now.

Patience Jonathan’s excesses must be curbed - Punch Report

Patience Jonathan’s excesses must be curbed - Punch Report

A report written by Punch Editorial Board
Each time the wife of the President, Patience Jonathan, hits the road with her long motorcade, including bulletproof and bombproof limousines, or is having a whale of a time at an event, drivers and commuters who find themselves on her routes always have to live with the bitter experience of the encounter. As police empty the roads of traffic, forcing drivers to wait as her glamorous convoy drifts by, motorists are trapped in traffic for hours on end, while social and economic life of the affected community is brought to a halt abruptly.
The recent visit of Mrs. Jonathan to Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, in which her security details forcibly grounded the movement of residents, is the latest of such excesses that Nigerians have been forced to endure for the past three years. This impunity must stop.

Acording to newspaper reports, Mrs. Jonathan’s security arrangement paralysed activities in the Port Harcourt Government Reservation Area for the four days of her visit. Armoured personnel carriers were deployed at two points, while gun-wielding operatives manned the points leading to her private residence. Many people missed their appointments because they were prevented from moving in and out of their houses.
When she came to Lagos last year, on a “thank-you visit” to some women groups for electing her husband president, she enacted a similar repulsive scenario.  During the visit, Lagos residents were subjected to an unprecedented road blockade, which gave rise to an unnerving five-hour traffic that grounded all human and economic activities. The First Lady was attending that event at Ocean View Restaurant on Adetokunbo Ademola Street, Victoria Island.
Mrs. Jonathan’s misdemeanour, which still resonates more than a year after it happened, forced Governor Babatunde Fashola to lament, “Lagosians were needlessly inconvenienced…. It dawned on me the need for public officers generally to be more sensitive to the people we serve. It is particularly worrisome that this (she) is not an elected person. I think we all must check how security agencies use the movement of high officers, especially VIPs, to disrupt citizens and taxpayers, whose money is used to fuel all the vehicles and all the apparatus that we use to block the roads against them. It should not get to the level that we close the roads in the state because VIPs want to pass.” It cannot be said better.
But not long after the ridiculous show of power in Lagos, Mrs. Jonathan headed for Warri, Delta State, where she also caused hardship to residents through her security arrangements.  Needless to say, these foul-ups compound gridlocks on our roads.  On a few occasions, the First Lady has also broken protocol. During President Goodluck Jonathan’s visit to the United States in September 2012, she breached protocol by disembarking from the aircraft before the President, and shaking hands with officials waiting on the tarmac while her husband was still coming down from the plane. The First Lady is setting a bad example for wives of governors.
The position of the First Lady in the United States, from where the convention spread to other countries, is not an elected one, carries no official duties, and attracts no salary. But it glows with much glamour and the occupier is expected to handle the position with sublime grace. In the United Kingdom, the role of the Prime Ministerial Consort is not official and as such whoever occupies the office is not given a salary or official duties. Many of them prefer to remain very much in the background.  Indeed, the late Denis Thatcher once summed up the role of the ideal prime ministerial spouse as “always present, never there.” This is the ideal.
But operating under the loosely-defined, unconstitutional office of the “First Lady,” Mrs. Jonathan has been bringing the highest office in the land into disrepute since her husband assumed full duties as President in May 2010, by her public conduct. Her behaviour – when there is no reason for it – is leaving many citizens who have had their rights trampled on bitter but helpless.
This is not the practice in civilised societies. The basic requirement of civilised democracy is that everyone plays by the rules and that the rules command public confidence. In October 2011, it was reported that a stunned 27-year-old Indian woman was so agitated that she enquired from David Cameron, who chose to travel in a tube train during rush hour, “Excuse me, are you the Prime Minister?” The Prime Minister was reportedly travelling on the London Underground for an appointment.  The United States’ security services offer maximum protection to Michelle Obama while, at the same time, causing minimal inconvenience to other motorists and citizens. It is as outrageous as it is gravely uncivilised for official cortèges to take pleasure in inflicting pains on the people that such officials claim to be serving.
The itinerary of the First Lady can be smoothly planned without compromising her safety and the convenience of the citizens.  Mrs. Jonathan must recognise that power is ephemeral and should learn from the past occupants of the office who history does not favourably remember because they did incalculable damage to the image of the First Family. Fashola, who, as a governor, does not use sirens in his limited convoy, and does not harass other road users, offers a useful lesson in public morality and decorum. Even with the aura surrounding the office of President of the United States, whenever Barack Obama is visiting any part of America, information is fully circulated to the locality well ahead of time, and locals are given alternative routes that cause minimum inconveniences to use.
It is President Jonathan’s duty to caution his wife to stop this regime of offensive illegality that has tainted the Presidency and presented Nigeria in a bad light.

All I want is your waist, no emotions, no tears, no letters, no love, no nothing. All I want is your waist, she ain't even know it. She brought emotions.
Well, he might not have been honest about his feelings for her after all. Iyanya actually got a tattoo of Yvonne Nelson's initials YN on his wrist while dating her last year. Awww, cute! Peep it on his left wrist above and check out the clearer photos after the cut...
